Mandor, Machu Picchu Trek – Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Aguas Calientes – Mandor.
Your Machu Picchu trek adventure begins early, we will pick you up at 5:00 a.m. and we will make our way down the mountain to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
The views are incredible and the small valley makes you feel as if you are engulfed in endless mountain ranges, because you are, it’s truly spectacular.
Then, we will arrive at the beautiful Ollantaytambo, where we will board the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes.
The train ride in itself is quite an experience, as you move from the mountains to the lush high jungle. Once we arrive in Aguas Calientes, you will leave your bags in your lovely hotel room.
At noon, we will have lunch and relax before beginning the Machu Picchu trek to Mandor. It will be a one hour Machu Picchu trek in Mandor, with incredible flora and fauna and your guide will teach you some interesting facts of the area. Along the way, we will take ample time to take photos and soak in the vast Mandor valley.
We also get the opportunity to visit the Machu Picchu museum, where your guide will explain all the new and not commonly known discoveries of the ancient magical citadel.
After, we return to Aguas Calientes, where we will enjoy a lovely dinner at a restaurant and go to sleep early in preparation for tomorrow’s big day tour in Machu Picchu.

Day 2: Machu picchu – Cusco Peru
We bring in the day early and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then, we take the first bus up to Machu Picchu. We arrive just in time to see the sunrise, a once in a lifetime experience.
We begin with an extensive 2 hour guided tour.
Your professional guide will take you to all the most significant sites, including temples, fountains, housing constructions, ceremonial sites, and much more.
Through the tour you will learn of the incredible ingenuity and history of the Inca, and just how they constructed this stone city thousands of years ago.
After, you will have ample time to explore on your own or if you have elected and have the permit, you can climb Huanya Picchu or Machu Picchu mountains.
They are quite the climb up Inca built stairs but the hard effort is well worth it when you are at the top, as you have a picturesque view of Machu Picchu below. The perfect vantage point for the perfect picture.
In the afternoon, we will make our way back down the mountain to Aguas Calientes where you will board the train going back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, a team member will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
