For years, the remote villages nestled in the Peruvian mountains have been neglected by our government, with limited access even for basic transportation like cars; often, the only means of arrival is by horseback.
Despite receiving over a million tourists annually, our region of Cusco isn’t as prosperous as one might assume. While it’s a hub for tourism, much of the revenue generated from tourists flows to Lima, leaving Cusco among the poorest regions in Peru.
At Mountain Gods Peru, a proudly Peruvian company, we are deeply committed to giving back to these overlooked communities. With our roots firmly planted in the tourism industry, we strive to improve the lives of those in these remote areas. As Christmas approaches, our focus intensifies on bringing joy to children who may have never experienced the delight of toys or traditional treats like Panetone and hot chocolate. It’s about creating smiles and spreading happiness where it’s needed most.
Christmas at Pumamarka Community
Christmas at Pumamarka Community It was a joyful day for the Mountain Gods Peru team to celebrate Christmas in the community of Pukamarca, sharing the spirit of the season with children and their families. We provided traditional hot chocolate and Panetones (fruit cake) while distributing Christmas gifts to the children. Many of them lack access to toys, clothing, and school supplies. Our commitment remains unwavering in spreading joy and making a positive difference in their lives.
